Putting a Bootable Lion Installation on a Flash Drive. This process has a few steps. First, make sure your USB drive is formatted for use with a Mac, then download the OS X Lion installer from the App Store and copy it to your flash drive. Finally, use your bootable flash drive to install Lion on your Mac. Confirm that the USB drive will lose it’s data and enter the Admin password when asked; Disk Utility will now create a bootable OS X Mountain Lion installer drive out of USB drive using the disk image, this can take a little while depending on how fast the drive and Mac are but 20-30 minutes isn’t unusual. Click on the Tools Menu and select “Create Bootable USB Drive” Select Source image file. I started by preparing my usb 3.0 disk with diskapart command in windows terminal and fallow all the steps in TransMac with different mac os versions but the final result was always the same, when I plug the usb pen in my mac, I turn on pressing option key and I select usb but it always go to Mac OS X Utilities.
- Download And install PowerISO
- Open PowerISO and continue unregistered.
- Click on the Tools Menu and select “Create Bootable USB Drive”
- Select Source image file – OS X ISO
- Select Destination USB Drive
- Write method will change automatically to “Write RAW Image File to USB Drive”
- Click Start and wait for your USB Drive to become ready
All Done.
